Every day starts with visiting the garden. To visit the veg patch, check on overnight activities of wildlife and ground with the earth.
Born under the Capricorn Sun and having grown-up with sunshine and the outdoors it ignites my soul. Whilst we've been gardening we have been looking into the medicinal benefits of herbs (MoodyzMedicinalGarden was born) as well as the international cultural view alongside historical spiritual applications of herbs and healing.
Rosemary 💜
Deep rooted in history of centuries of cultures and said to embody purification, protection, remembrance and spiritual self discovery. Rosemary oil is fantastic for my hair, but also I use it for pain relief on my skin. It smells divine is connected to my aura and energetic field. Rosemary has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-turmorigenic and neuroprotective properties. It is also associated with the Goddess Aphrodite. Burning rosemary and aid in riding any space of negative energies too! This Herb is keeping away the slugs with its fragrance, protecting our home and smells divine when the oil is applied to the skin. We make the oil with coconut oil and rosemary over boiling water for 3hrs at least. Then strain with a cheese cloth. Trust me it really does heal in many ways.
Mint 💜
Mint can be used to attract wealth, luck or love. Mint cleanse spaces to counteract any negative energy or attacks.
It helps protect the body from oxidative stress by free radicals. Spiritual enhancement and prosperity. It's good for your digestive system as well. We have been soaking mint leaves, a good handful, in distilled water to use in smoothies. It is incredibly to drink cold mint water. It certainly helps you feel refreshed and quenches your thrust. Mint contains vitamin A which helps your eye health and night vision.
Pineapple Sage 💜
Once used in Guatemala and Mexico in purification and religious ceremonies. Sage is symbolic spiritually for wisdom and protection. It benefits your digestive system and contains vitamin K, A, C and B6!
We will be making sage spray for the vegetable plants which will act as a natural deterrent for pests. We also will be making sage smudge bundles for cleansing and burning. Sage is so versatile and this particular variety will grow with edible flowers for salad as well.
We have corn growing and marigolds coming back to life after a recent slug issue. We have used copper meshing around the plants to deter the slugs from eating the plants. The copper reacts with the slugs mucus so they don't like it much at all!
So far everything is growing well and MoodyzMedicinalGarden will be updated regularly.
Much love
Liz
